(Via WireService.ca) The Windsor International Film Festival (WIFF) is teaming up with HotDocs once again to bring festivalgoers the HotDocs Showcase. It’ll present 11 documentaries specifically selected by HotDocs president Chris McDonald, including Lewis Bennett’s The Sandwich Nazi and Charles’ Wilkinson’s Haida Gwaii: On the Edge of the World. As we’ve mentioned, WIFF takes place November 3rd to November 8th. The full lineup will be announced tomorrow.

(Via WireService.ca) In Ottawa, a brand new film festival makes its debut on Friday: The first annual African Film Festival of Ottawa (AFFO) takes place at Carleton University’s River Building Theatre over the next two weekends. The Festival is being launched by the Canadian Film Institute (CFI) in honour of its 80th anniversary year, and opens with Africa Paradis (Benin).
