According to Bell Media, Toronto International Film Festival will be a part of the kickoff for the upcoming 14th season of ETALK, Canada’s favourite entertainment news show well known for capturing some of the finest newsworthy moments around Canada all while bringing an intense rush to its viewers. During TIFF, the team of reporters will be reporting from numerous spots around town.
But not only will one of Canada’s greatest TV shows be honoured to be a part of TIFF, Telefilm Canada and Birks will be giving their honours and tribute to Women in film for the third year in a row. This year, nine Canadian women, all a variety of directors and actresses, are honourees of the Birks Diamond Tribute. Each and every one of them will receive honour and praise at none other than the Shangri-la Hotel located in Toronto on September 15.
Another upcoming film festival, the Digi60 Filmmaker’s Festival is now opening registration for a special competition they have running for 60 days, MFM announces. Open to people outside of Ottawa, but they must shoot their films locally in the city they registered from, and with a local cast and crew. The contest is on focused on new and emerging filmmakers.
