CCTS, SIFA, and One More Chance for Star Wars Tickets

(Via PRNewsWire) Starting today (November 2nd), an online forum will give Canadians a chance to discuss the future of the Commissioner for Complaints for Telecommunications Services (CCTS). The CRTC is hosting the discussion to help it “review how the structure and mandate of the CCTS can be modified” considering that so many people in Canada now get both telecom and broadcast services from the same company. There’s a new code of conduct for TV providers; how can the CCTS best enforce it? Have your say here.

(Via MarketWired) Cineplex is giving fans a second chance to buy opening weekend tickets for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Sales start tomorrow (November 3rd) online and at Cineplex box offices. Why the second round? “This is the highest demand for advance tickets that we’ve seen in our history for any opening weekend,” says VP Pat Marshall. The film opens Friday, December 18, 2015 with advance shows on December 17, 2015.

The Saskatchewan Independent Film Awards (SIFA)   will take place on the 26th at The Artesian on 13th (that’s 13th Avenue) in Regina. This event is presented by the Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative and  devoted to “the best in Saskatchewan independent filmmaking”.  Thanks to SMPIA for the announcement; more details on FaceBook.
