Animators Wanted, Parrsboro Film Festival,Crowdfunding for Creatives, Rotterdam Lab

Animators are wanted for a 2016 transmedia /motion picture project, MFM announces; you should be able to work in a wide range of styles to tell a range of stories. More details, plus how to apply, are here.

Nova Scotia’s Parrsboro Film Festival is coming up, The Chronicle-Herald reports, running from the 23rd through the 25th and showcasing Atlantic Canadian cinema. Among the offerings this year are Relative Happiness, Heartbeat, and Cast No Shadow. Read more at the Festival site.

Also coming up, way further west: Crowdfunding for Creatives, a workshop put on by the Saskatchewan Media Production Industry Association for creators “who want to make that happen and are willing to put in the work that crowdfunding demands.” Sessions take place in Regina on the 14th and Saskatoon on the 16th; agenda and registration details are at the SMPIA site.

Three Canadian producers will get the chance to attend the  Rotterdam Lab, a five-day training workshop that gives “starting producers the opportunity to develop international market experience and knowledge.” It takes place during the Rotterdam International Film Festival’s Cinemart; application deadline is October 30th, and you can find out more from Telefilm.
