7 Best Canadian Movie Podcasts

There really is a podcast for every interest and topic that you can think of. If you’re looking for a different perspective on the film industry, then why not check out these Canadian movie podcasts? There’s lots of excellent choices here, and there may well be something that you’ll love in this list. 

  1. Film Junk Podcast

This is one of the longest running movie podcasts out there right now. Hosted by long time friends Sean, Jay and Frank, they offer a mix of trivia, movie reviews, pop culture discussion, stories, and more. 

You can find recent episodes cover the latest Chip n’ Dale show, Rosemary’s Baby, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. There’s a range of both new and old movies covered, so there’s always something interesting to check out. 

2. The Movie Podcast

Every single week hosts Daniel, Shabaz and Anthony cover all the biggest movie news that’s happening right now. They have a lot of enthusiasm for movies, and its infectious when you listen to them. They also talk about the latest trailers that have come out, as well as any upcoming movies that they think you should know about. 

They also bring on special guests from all across the film industry, so there’s always new and different points of view involved. Each episode is only around 40 minutes long, so they’re very easy to listen to and enjoy no matter where you are. 

3. The Really Awful Movies Podcast

The name of this podcast makes you think they’re covering the worst of cinema, but instead they’re answering the question “Why do you watch those awful movies?” They go into the best of low budget cinema, and what it can offer you. As you’d expect, they mostly cover comedy, horror and scifi. 

For example, recent episodes have covered Censor, Creep 2, and Dolls to name a few. Take a listen if you want more movies to add to your to watch list. 

4. Kyle & Dave Vs. The Machine

This podcast is a little bit different, as the conceit is hosts Kyle and Dave are being forced to watch movies by a sentient machine. By doing so, they prevent the apocalypse. 

It’s very much worth a listen, as they cover a wide range of movies that you may not have heard of. Recent episodes have covered a range of movies from 1982, including The World According To Garp, Night Shift, and Starstruck. 

5. Good Times With Bad Movies

Think watching bad movies would be a bad time? Think again. This podcast follows two friends who watch a movie each week that they think may be bad, and at least give them a chuckle. Recent episodes include movies like Never Been Kissed, Return To Oz, and Saturday Night Fever just to name a few.

6. The Bloody Podcassacre

7. The Editor’s Cut

Each episode has guests from the film industry to talk about editing, and how they craft their story in this way. If you’re interested in the background of movie making, this is for you.
