(Via WireService.ca) With all kinds of experience in  the film industry for over 20 years and having worked on many TV shows, movies, and other types of media in Canada, Prem Gill is now appointed as the CEO leading the Creative BC team. (Creative BC is the non-profit society responsible for promoting the development of creative industries in British Columbia.)

Prem has worked as a Production Director for TELUS and has also worked on productions for networks such as CHUM and CityTV. Named as one of the Top 10 Women Who Matter in Film, Prem believes in advancing BC as the global leader of innovation and creativity, and believes she has what it takes to help Creative BC move forward.

Michael Francis, from NSI’s board of directors, states Prem is a perfect fit for the role of CEO “due to her outstanding relationship building skills, her reputation in Canada as one of the top leaders who matter in film, television and content creation and her passionate commitment to supporting local creative talent across multi-screen platforms.”

Prem’s goal is to create a plan that will celebrate the many diversities within the film industry and all industries in media, including music and books. She says this will push the boundaries making BC a strong leader in innovative planning. Working as Vice-Chair in the NSI’s board of directors currently at VIFF, Prem will be replacing Richard Brownsley, the former President and CEO of Creative BC who retired nearly two months ago.
