UBC Next 100, Hot Docs, and Big Brother

(via shawmedia.ca) Big Brother Canada is airing its double eviction tonight. A moment that fans have been waiting for, tonight’s 90-minute episode will feature the departure of guest Kelsey Faith. After a fake double eviction had occurred earlier, a second chance along with a confidential suite have been prepared for Faith and another guest, Loveita Adams. The two will get their chance to return to the house as they use the secret suite to eavesdrop on the other guests to see what they are hiding.

An Indian documentary has been selected to be screened at the Hot Docs Canadian International Film Festival, as reported by IndianTelevision.com. Fireflies in the Abyss by Chandrasekhar Reddy was selected among 38 other stunning features and will be showcased at the biggest Canadian documentary film festival in Toronto. The documentary covers the subject of an 11-year-old boy who wants to start a new life. Sick and tired of working in the coal mines, the boy makes plans to start going to school.

Coming up next Saturday,  April 2nd, is the UBC Next 100 Film Festival, an event that will feature films made by Film Production Alumni from the University. Showing are UBC’s finest from writer Larry Kent, to cinematographer Greg Middleton, and even producers like Stephen Hegyes and Cari Green. More details regarding the event can be found here.
