Sorry We’re So Good: OIAF, Barco Escape, and a PSA

(Via Wireservice.ca) The Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) has announced its lineup, and Artistic Director Chris Robinson says, “We’ve got a record number of Canadian features and what really impresses me is how utterly diverse and unique each film is.” Three Canadian feature-lengths — Louise en Hiver, Window Horses, and a remake of La Guerre des Tuques — tell animated stories of everything from a kids’ snowball fight to a poet’s visit to Iran to an old lady stranded in a French resort. Many creative works from other countries are also scheduled. OIAF takes place September 21st through 25th at ByTowne Cinema (325 Rideau Street) in Ottawa.

(Via Marketwired) Moviegoers in three Canadian cities will soon be able to enjoy a new immersive experience — Barco Escape auditoriums will open in Cineplex’ Scotiabank theatres in Vancouver, Edmonton and Toronto. The new technology features two additional side screens, creating a panoramic viewing range. The auditoriums are scheduled to be up and running in time for the premiere of Star Trek Beyond on July 22nd — but tickets are on sale as of today. Visit your local box office or Cineplex.com.
