See: enRoute Selections, Oka Films, Mission Impossible Q&A, Star Trek 3 Set

NorthernStars announces there’ll be a free public screening, in Vancouver this Thursday, of the 20 short films selected by the jury in the  Air Canada enRoute Film Festival. (Also, they like the logo.) Montreal and Toronto screenings, and the awards ceremony, will follow in November.

Oka was 25 years ago this summer, and the CBC’s Jordan Wheeler has a list of five films to help viewers understand it — everything from documentaries to a lighthearted series about Mohawk Girls coming of age. See it here.

A Cineplex Premiere Event on July 27th will bring moviegoers across Canada not only a special advance screening of Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation but streaming Q&A with Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie. Tickets are on sale now, and Stockhouse has the details.

Star Trek 3 is filming in Vancouver (and Squamish), of course, and just before the weekend, The Vancouver Sun got a look at “Enterprise sets that were rebuilt for the movie at Vancouver Film Studios.” Scott Brown has the story, and here’s the video that tells how you and a friend just could be a part of it.

Later today — Darren Wiesner shares his  thoughts and questions on the scandal surrounding Bill Cosby.
