Looking Ahead: Webinar, Festival, and Doc

With 2015 almost over, there’s still a lot to look forward to — before and after Christmas and New Year’s.

Tomorrow morning (December 19th), MFM as announced a free webinar for documentary filmmakers — this first session will look at financing challenges and funding options, presented by the experienced trio of Nadia Tavazzani, Simon Brothers, and Liz Marshall. Canada’s Top Ten Film Festival runs January 8 to 17, 2016 at TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto. But this year it won’t be confined to TO; a special screening of Patricia Rozema’s Into the Forest on January 9th will be simulcast in Vancouver and Montreal, with viewers in the other two cities getting a chance to join in the Q&A with Ms. Rozema. A Canadian documentary on “the James Bond of Ghanaian journalism” will make its world broadcast premiere January 11th on HBO Canada, Bell Media has announced. Chameleon, Ryan Mullins’ story of African investigative reporter Anas Aremeyaw Anas. Watch the trailer below — just don’t expect to get a clear look at Anas’ face.
