The Janitor’s Office (Review)

If you thought a custodial office was only for storing cleaning supplies and a Playboy collection, there’s a lot more than just that. It can also be used as a shelter from a dangerous threat at your school.

By dangerous threat, I mean an escaped killer who stays as unknown as his purpose for murdering every teen in sight. Our heroes get more screen time, as they are five teens who escaped the crazy guy and locked themselves in the janitor’s closet. One, named Lee (Christopher Vivanco), sits in the corner after witnessing the killer and is too traumatized to move. The English-accented kid named Dirk (Chris Walters) is trying to break out of the office. The other kids are Jake (Javier Villareal) who tries to keep everything and everyone under control, and the two girls, Trisha (Paula Giroday) and Beth (Lindsey Simpson), who are either agreeing or reasoning with Dirk.

They try calling for emergency assistance but the only cellphone among them has no signal. Other ordeals include someone at the door, which they end up ignoring, and a power outage. Working as quietly as possible, they get some batteries in a radio and attempt to hear the news, but they are interrupted by someone attempting to break in. Once they get a signal, they try to increase reception in hopes that the news mentions the murderer having getting caught. But now there’s no telling if they can really escape the killer.

This wasn’t very much of a movie, but it was pretty well arranged. The camera shots were pretty good, and the acting was okay for what it was worth. But it didn’t seem like there was much intensity in the whole thing. The janitor’s closet didn’t even look like a janitor’s closet, but I guess they couldn’t shoot it in a real one due to space issues. Credits actually say the film was shot at a martial arts centre anyway. I feel kind of neutral about this one.
