Who Is Lucas Talent Inc.? Eric Edwards Fills Us In

Lucas Talent Inc. was founded in 1986 by Richard Lucas. They represent actors, background actors, directors, producers, writers and film editors. After producing Expo 86, Richard Lucas was impressed by the amount of talent in Vancouver, so he established Lucas Talent Inc.

A year ago they merged with Muse Entertainment and JR Talent, making them the largest agency in Vancouver and second largest in Canada. Agent Eric Edwards represents actors. He accepted our invitation for an interview and this is what we learnt.

Representing approximately 800 clients, some of them include director Anne Wheeler, most notably known for Bye Bye Blues, Edge of Madness and Suddenly Naked. Other actors on their roster include Louis Ferreira, currently in Motive, Matt Frewer in The Librarian, Orphan Black, Olympus, and The Knick, Emily Bett Rickards in Arrow and The Flash and Paul Johansonn from One Tree Hill and AMC’s Mad Men just to name a few.

The main reason for their success, I’m told is well-established relationships. Having great relations with agencies, managers and casting directors across Canada and the U.S. has helped propel their clients to the next level.

Having standards for excellence, they only accept select clients. If you’re considering them, please bring your A game. They will get you the auditions with the casting directors, you just have to get the part and Bob’s your uncle — or brother/distant relative?

Ironically, the decline of the Canadian dollar has made Vancouver a magnet for U.S. Films and increased work for their clients.
