OFF for the Weekend

(Via PRWeb) Okanagan Film Fundamentals (OFF), a weekend of learning about the film industry, will take place October 22 to 25, 2015 at the Cove Lakeside Resort in West Kelowna, BC. It’s the first project of a partnership between Centre for Arts and Technology and the Okanagan Film Commission.

OFF will consist of two parts. The Motion Picture Industry Orientation Course covers foundations needed to be able to work safely on a film set. (It will be held twice over the weekend.) The second, a symposium, will explore script writing, entertainment law, budgeting, and pitching. If you’d like to attend, information is available on the OFF site. Early bird pricing is available until August 31st; you can sign up for one or both parts.

According to a media release, “This partnership will help ensure that people passionate about animation and film have a quality training institution in their community.” The partners hope to strengthen the Okanagan film industry further.  As the Commission points out, the Okanagan offers a lot to filmmakers: Experienced crews, a growing animation industry, tax incentives, and locations ranging from deserts to vineyards.
