Tambay A. Obenson of Indiewire has posted that Sundance Film Festival’s announced its lineup of 72 films. Sundance will also be sending the award winning shorts to film labs and theatres in the US throughout the year. Not only for entertainment purposes, but to show new upcoming filmmakers how to make amazing short films.

(via CBC) The Sabbatical from Saskatchewan shows what middle age feels like. Focusing on a middle aged university professor on vacation, the film examines the attitude of the middle aged and shows some of the experiences that co-writer and lead actor James Whittingham went through himself.

On ourwindsor.ca Linda Bernard writes that Youth gets highly recognized in Canada’s Top 10 films. About seven of the 10 films have been created from the perspective of youth. TIFF artistic director Cameron Bailey says the future is looking bright for Canadian cinema. The top 10 films will be viewable at TIFF Bell Lightbox from January 8 to 17. Event will be hosted by Kiefer Sutherland.

(via etcanada.com) The nominations for the SAG awards have been announced, writes Brent Furdyk. Anthony Mackle and Anna Faris announced the nominations this morning for the Screen Actors Guild and handed out nominations to film and TV actors. Awards to be announced on January 30.
