Sudbury Extras Needed, Directly Affected, FeFF Winners, Just For Cats

Extras are needed in Sudbury, pretty much all ages and ethnicities, says Music and Film in Motion. It’s for Lead With Your Heart, a Hallmark movie you can read about in this Sudbury Star piece by Ben Leeson from last week. Also, there’s a party, or at least a party scene being filmed, on July 1st, and recent secondary grads are needed for that, details on MFM.

“From Burnaby Mountain to the Bay of Fundy”, filmmakers Zack Embree, Devyn Brugge and Mary Lovell are traveling the route of the proposed Energy East pipeline and exploring the concerns of communities along the way. It’s for their media project Directly Affected has the story in The National Observer.

The far-ranging Just For Cats Film Festival pounces on Regina this weekend, the CBC reports. Funds raised will help the Regina Humane Society, which is offering $50 cat adoptions all week (that’s a real deal, which according to the Humane Society site  includes spay/neuter surgery, tattoo, micro-chip, vaccinations and a 30-day free trial of Petplan Pet Insurance — and usually costs from $99 to $185). As we told you in April, despite the name, humans are actually allowed into the screenings.
