(via CBC.ca) Three movies in TIFF’s Top 10 list focus on coming of age, an important subject. While teens are searching for something in life and they don’t know how to express themselves, they tend to make bad decisions. The three films that best show this experience are My American Cousin, Sleeping Giant, and Closet Monster.

Etan Vlessing and Alex Ritman of The Hollywood Reporter write that Sierra Pictures are taking over eOne International’s marketing and taking care of film sales. The Canadian film and TV distribution eOne has shut down and will be moved over to Sierra Pictures where movies such as Trumbo and Spotlight will get submitted to the Berlin Film Festival.

The Canadian Press has announced the sale of Global TV Network and 19 specialty channels to Corus for $2.65 billion. Shaw believes that by selling Global’s Media division this will help fund their purchase of Wind Mobile, while also getting 39% of the equity shares produced by Corus.

Probably one of the most darkest and disturbing movies ever, but anyone who has experienced domestic violence can most likely relate. With Abbotsford Police getting calls regarding domestic violence once or twice a day, they needed to find a way to reach out to the youth on what to do in such a situation and start focusing on healthy relationships at such an impressionable age.
