First, of course, let’s note that The Revenant, which took away three awards from the Golden Globes last night (best drama picture, best director, best performance by an actor in a drama) was filmed partly in BC and Alberta . . .
And Toronto’s Engagement Labs announces (via Marketwired) that The Revenant was also first on Facebook among social media rankings for the 2016 Golden Globes. Twitter seemed to favour The Big Short, according to the eValue™ score.
The European Union Film Festival (EUFF), also based in TO, announces encore screenings of some 2015 favourites, including the Festival’s Audience Choice, Roel Reiné’s Admiral, a historical epic from the Netherlands. Screenings take place Friday January 22, and Saturday January 23, at the Royal Cinema, 608 College St, and are free, first come, first served. However, for $10 you can reserve a seat — online only.
(Via WireService.ca) The youngest punk band in Canada (it’s fronted by a four-year-old), Problem Attic is releasing its first single, RAWR, on Saturday the 16th. The video’s coming out on Thursday — but you can see a preview now on Facebook. All proceeds go to Jude’s college fund.
Coming up — Darren Wiesner’s exclusive interview with Uwe Boll. Don’t miss it!
