Frankie Gaddo’s last short film, Oliver’s Bowl, was achieved on a low budget, with a simple concept and great audience appeal.
The film has screened at TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto for the Italian Contemporary Film Festival and Cine Tonala in Bogota, Colombia.
The audience has been very receptive and he is awaiting other festivals to accept Oliver’s Bowl.
“What’s next for Frankie Gaddo?”
“I am currently writing my eighth feature. Just started my fourth draft.”
Having worked on sets for years in various positions, he understands the mechanics of filmmaking. He’s expressed the desire to transition into making a feature.
When he’s not making films or on set, he is trying to find buyers for his scripts. His genre of choice is comedy but he has also written drama.
“I’ve also considered starting up my own film company that can produce low budget to mid budget feature productions.”
Whether he funds his films using grants or crowdfunding, I have no doubt it will look amazing and be very entertaining.
Oliver’s Bowl might only be three minutes long, but the work, preparation and reveal has all required very careful planning.
