It’s always amazing when I get an opportunity to visit local productions in the area, but it’s even more of a treat when I get to check out productions that come to Vancouver for filming purposes. That’s what Jonathan Baker did for his production of Fate a few months ago. Jonathan is a combination of a writer, a producer, and a director, which is what I call a film industry powerhouse. After an intense 5 years in production, the film finally got made and Jonathan must be real pleased with how things are going currently. And why wouldn’t he? He got some of the very best for his production. The cast features Faye Dunaway, Harvey Keitel, Brandon Routh, Janet Montogomery, Andrew McCarthy, Mena Suvari, Cheech Marin, Sienna Soho and Jimmy Van Patten.
Now, you must’ve been asking, what is the film about? Very good question because it’s an amazing concept that makes me want to see it in advance. It’s all about a rescue mission that went in an incorrect direction, and things met up. However, this allows a firefighter to meet up with a visitor and get to know them better when they discover each other at a sanitarium. The firefighter somehow gets transported through time and that’s when he learns only true love can save his soul. After all you can find that special someone within a moment, and then forget them in a lifetime. Who wouldn’t love to see a love story like that?
The most interesting thing is how Jonathan got the inspiration for one location, the Vista hotel, a fictional place in the movie. It was heavily inspired from the Los Angeles theatre Quentin Tarantino recently refurbished back in 2022. Very fascinating place to draw creativity from. Well, a majority of it has been shot by now and I wonder how development is going now, because I’m so excited to see what becomes of it in the near future. We should all go and check it out when it releases. However, it will be a while before it does since it’s going through editing. But while we’re waiting, prepare for 5 more articles coming out that will tell you more than you ever expected!
