The National Screen Institute has announced the four students accepted to the inaugural Shaw Media Diverse TV Director training course. The bootcamp starting next month will help the students, all with directing experience, make the leap to directing scripted television series. NSI has the names and full details.
The official accomodation partner of North By Northeast (NXNE) this year is Airbnb. In a media release via CNW, Aaron Zifkin, Country Manager – Airbnb, Canada, says, “Many of our hosts in the Toronto area are connected to the music and arts community, which makes this partnership a natural fit for us.” NXNE is a five-day festival that takes place from June 17 -21 encompassing different events centred around music, film and art.
An apology for Shoegate has been made by Cannes Film Festival director Thierry Fremaux, Metronews reports. He calls it “perhaps a small moment of over-zealousness.”
“It wasn’t going to change for the camera,” Yanna McIntosh, the Stratford Festival’s Cleopatra, tells Bruce Urquhart. She’s talking about the Festival’s HD series, which records live performances of its Shakespeare plays that will be screened at Cineplex and on CBC, and made available in other ways.
