(Via PRNewswire) Filmmaker Philip Hoffman will be among the recipients of the 2016 Governor General’s Awards in Visual and Media Arts. The awards are given for distinguished career achievement in visual arts, architecture, independent film and video, or audio and new media. The feature film Basic Human Needs, produced and filmed entirely in Saskatchewan, will see its theatrical release in Saskatoon and Regina theatres this April. This coming-of-age comedy tells the story of a young Regina couple who suffer from “debilitating lack of ambition” but may just have to grow up in a hurry.
