This year, for the first time ever, several of the films at Hot Docs will be available with described video and closed captioning, thanks to a partnership between the festival and Accessible Media Inc. The 13th annual Youth Film Competition, for Atlantic Canadians ages 18 and under, is getting near its deadline for entries — May 9th. (via corusent.com) Big Brother Canada had three people ready for eviction and the final result has been decided. Thanks to a vote, Raul Manriquez has been booted out and is heading home. It’s been a hectic week for everyone this season, but someone had to go with all of the riffraff going on. While Raul has generally betrayed some of his own crew members, he hopes they still move along and do a good job while staying at the home.

The festival known as Out North has been going on for five years now and is considered a positive event to help bring the queer community together and show everyone they’re quite interesting. Spawning over this weekend in White Horse, there will be six films showcased.
