Crew Call and Two from Telefilm

MFM announces an urgent crew call for labourers tomorrow and Saturday, loading and unloading in Sudbury and Toronto and traveling in between. As you can guess, this is an all-day job and you need to be pretty fit. Details here.

(Via PRNewsWire) Telefilm has released its report Audiences in Canada: Trend Report which has some interesting findings: 60% of movie ticket sales come from 16% of Canadians — the “heavy moviegoers” who see 10 or more films a year; these die-hard movie fans are going to the theatres just as much as always, and so are 13- to 24-year-olds, though Canadians in general go out to fewer movies; and comedy is still the most popular genre, though it all depends on what mood the viewer is in. See the full report here.

(Via CNW) In more news from Telefilm — with its partner, Corus Entertainment, it’s announced today that principal photography has wrapped on Operation Insanity, the first project to come out of the Family Feature Production Fund. The Fund was set up to increase production of Canadian-English language live-action family movies. Operation Insanity chronicles a rescue mission by a quiet teen and his supposedly senile grandfather with the help of some war veterans.
