(Via Marketwired) The Force is awakening demand for tickets — Cineplex says it’s “seeing unprecedented demand for advanced tickets to Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” So much, in fact, that they’re adding more showtimes on opening weekend (starting the 18th). We know we told you back in early November that there was “one more chance” to get advance tickets — but we didn’t see this coming. Not even Cineplex did. They’re releasing a third block of tickets — who knows if it’ll be the last.
Three Prince Edward Island filmmakers have been chosen by the National Screen Institute to join its 2016 Features First training course, CBC News reports. Producers Jason Arsenault and Jenna MacMillan and screenwriter Adam Perry will spend 10 months learning and making connections, all leading up to the production of their feature film, A Small Fortune. It’s the story of a PEI fisherman who finds a stash of money.
The very first Bluenose-Ability Film Festival has wrapped up in Halifax (where else, with that name?), The Chronicle Herald reports. Put on by reachAbility, a non-profit with a “commitment to engaging and artistic disability programming”, BAFF screened international and Canadian films like Mauro Megrati’s Elsewhere and A City, A Person by Christian McCuaig and Ryan Butt.
