The NFB celebrated International Women’s Day by announcing “that at least half of its productions will be directed by women and half of all production spending will be allocated to films directed by women” beginning over the next three years. This announcement was made by Claude Joli-Coeur, Government Film Commissioner and NFB Chairperson, at — where else? — the Vancouver International Women in Film Festival. The Festival is ongoing till Sunday, and we’ll be bringing you coverage from last night’s screening shortly.
