WFF and WWF

(Via Wireservice.ca) Canadian producers are invited to apply for the Feature Project Lab at this year’s Whistler Film Festival (WFF). This is an intensive two-phase experience  that covers both creative development and the business end of making a feature film. Six participants will be chosen; application deadline is April 15.  More details here. Also, just a reminder that the Festival proper is open for entries — details on submitting them are here (and you don’t have to be Canadian for that).

(Via PRNewswire) REEL Canada, the travelling film festival that brings Canadian film to students all over the country, will hold a special half-day screening for 450 ESL students in Edmonton on the 16th. It’s partnering with World Wildlife Fund – Canada (WWF) to bring them a special viewing of The Whale, directed by Michael Parfit and Suzanne Chisholm. The partners hope to introduce the students to Canadian film, help them with their English language skills, and encourage them to work to help their communities.
