Size 0 Woes, 4-D Doc, New Destination Detour

Is the film industry to blame for women’s unrealistic expectations about their bodies? Rebecca Tucker of The National Post asks some Canadian stars. Tara Spencer-Nairn of Corner Gas says (among other things),  “In a weird way I want to defend the industry because any pressure that I’ve felt, I think, has been society.” Seems, also, that it’s not so bad here in Canada.

A 4-D, 11-minute documentary about Alberta is screening free at the Federal Building in Edmonton — you can feel the wind in your hair and the snow (artificial) falling on you. Jodie Sinnema of The Edmonton Journal has the story.

Corus Entertainment’s W Network is getting together with Mark Burnett, United Artists Media Group, Omnicom Canada Corp.’s Highway Entertainment and Insight Productions for a new reality show that starts filming next month in Ontario. According to a media release via CNW,  “Destination Detour takes three couples on what they expect will be their own meticulously planned, once in a lifetime dream vacation but throws a major curveball into their plans . . .  Only time will tell if the couples embrace this Destination Detour or if it will turn out to be a holiday from hell.”
