(Via Marketwired) Lloydminster is the next stop announced in Fountain Tire’s Open Road Cinema tour, with a free drive-in screening of Kung Fu Panda 3 set for August 9th at the Lloydminster Exhibition. The movie will begin at dark (around 9:15) but other family-friendly activities start at 6:00. Get your free ticket — only one required per vehicle — here.

Lethbridge is also hometown to TV and film producer David Cormican, profiled by Eric Volmers in The Calgary Herald. Originally an actor, Cormican found himself in front of the cameras again during a recent production in Lithuania, doing his best American accent . . .

Vancouver Island North Film Commission presents a workshop on ” the creative and technical aspects of scouting, from the initial scouting call to the digital photo presentation”, August 20th-21st in Parksville, BC.
