Free Movies at Cineplex, New PEI Filmfest, New Music Video

(Via MarketWired) It’s free movies all across Canada on the morning of Saturday, October 24th, as Cineplex presents its fifth annual Community Day. Nearly every Cineplex in the country will offer family-friendly movies to non-paying customers — first come, first served. Films start at 9:00 AM and include Despicable Me 2, Fast & Furious 6, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, Pitch Perfect, Hop and Dumb and Dumber To. Also, some of the concession items will be priced at only $2. All proceeds go to Free The Children. Read more about the event here.

Another new filmfest is making its debut, reports The Guardian: The first annual Charlottetown Film Festival, dedicated entirely to Prince Edward Island filmmakers, begins Friday evening at City Cinema. It continues through the 18th. They’re calling it “a Festival of Firsts.” More info on FaceBook.

(Via WireService.ca) Toronto singer-songwriter Peter Katz’s new video for his song We Are the Reckoning has premiered via Indie88. Directed by Justin Broadbent, it’s a Plaid Shirt Music production that incorporates multiple styles of video to convey the song’s message: We’ll get to where we get/ And through our broken steps, we’ll make it.
