3 New Movies to See This Weekend

The Age of Adaline – A fantasy about a solitary young woman who is ageless. Adaline Bowman may soon have to reveal her secret once she meets a philanthropist named Ellis Jones who plans to introduce his new love to his parents. Already this has been getting good feedback in a short period of time and looks worthwhile to check out. See if you recognize the Hotel Vancouver where the filming began.

Ex Machina – A science fiction thriller about a young coder named Caleb who wins a competition at his workplace to spend a two-week vacation at a private retreat. Upon arriving, Caleb finds he is part of an experiment with a form of Artificial Intelligence that happens to be inside a robotic female body. It almost seems like a romantic comedy, but something tells me that the AI has a few bugs in it. I’m a little interested in to see what happens when a single man interacts with an attractive android, even though I know this has been done before.

The Water Diviner – Since Russell Crowe is so big in the film industry, he has decided to take a shot at directing and his debut is coming out. In 1919, after the Battle of Gallipoli in World War I, Joshua Connor (played by Crowe), a farmer from Australia, sets out to find his three sons who are missing in action. Joshua works hard to make it across the landscapes with the help of a hotel owner in Istanbul and an officer from Turkey, hoping to find the truth. Russell Crowe has been quite a good actor in the past so his own directing debut could be a splendid piece of work.
