  • Victoria, BC, needs to “build the kind of crew base that will appeal to the real Hollywood” says former film industry worker Marcus Handman, writing in the Times-Colonist. As of now, he says, the capital is a place for low-budget productions to avoid the cost of shooting in the more unionized Vancouver. Read more here.
  • It faded from sight soon after its release in 1991, and there may be only two copies in existence — but the Canadian made thriller Clearcut, starring Graham Greene, is showing at the Vancity Theatre in Vancouver tonight. Read about it in the Georgia Straight.
