Canada’s Walk of Fame 2015 Inductees

(Via CNW) Canada’s Walk of Fame, with Shaw Media, has announced its 2015 inductees, who include:
  • Michael Bublé, Musician
  • Don Cherry and Ron MacLean, Hockey Broadcasters, Coach’s Corner
  • Wendy Crewson, Actor
  • Lorne Greene, Actor (Cineplex Legends Inductee)
  • Lawrence Hill, Author
  • Silken Laumann, Athlete

And yes, Lorne Greene died in 1987, but “the Cineplex Legends Inductee is given posthumously to a Canadian pioneer in film and television, music, sports, arts or innovation.”

Also, this year’s Allan Slaight Honour goes to 17-year-old singer-songwriter and multi-platinum recording artist Shawn Mendes, who will be honoured at the Canada’s Walk of Fame Broadcast Show on December 7th at 8:00 PM on Global. If you’d like to attend in person, tickets go on sale today starting at $29.95.

What does it take to make the Walk of Fame? According to its official site: ” Candidates must have been born in or spent their creative or formative years in Canada. A minimum of 10 successful years is required to qualify, as well as a recognized body of work that has had a significant influence on our cultural heritage.”
