Okanagan’s First full service film and television studio has opened

Recently, Okanagan Studios has opened up the first of three of their upcoming film production studios. There’s been a high case of demand for having production companies as Okanagan has been a popular destination for production mainly due to tax credits.

This first studio was once the Far West Outerwear factory within Vernon, BC. Consisting of 50,000 square feet, complete with a 100’x100’ 10,000 square foot sound proofed stage, a second 12,500 square foot warehouse arranged into a flex stage, as well as the studio consisting of 34 offices, at over 20,000 square feet, and a separate 7,000 square foot construction shop and art department, including parking for over 100 cars and an extra lot for circus trucks and trailers. Even more convenient is how it’s east of Vancouver, BC. Okanagan Film Commissioner Jon Summerland has stated, “The Okanagan has seen strong demand for productions due to it’s unique locations, additional tax incentives and strong local crew base and we couldn’t be more excited for the opening of Okanagan Studios and the addition this strong asset brings to the region”.

More production studios are currently being constructed in hopes that more companies coming to Vernon to shoot movies and tv series will have facilities making shoots go by much more easier. For booking, please visit the official Okanagan Studios website here to schedule your shoot soon.
