From our updated About page (yeah, we got rid of the WordPress boilerplate at last):
Hollywood North publishes news on the Canadian film industry five days a week, highlighting homegrown and independent film and TV projects.
Under the corporate umbrella of Manna Computer Services Inc., a Lower Mainland of BC company, since January 2015, we are working hard to be a site where readers can inform themselves about the opportunities out there and make the connections vital to their filmmaking careers.
Jane Wangersky has worked as The Editor of over a dozen online publications, including many at PeKu Publications, where she still writes on food and parenting. She has a certificate in teaching English as a second language, but tries not to obsess over grammar . . . much.
Having graduated Art Insitute of Vancouver with a film diploma, Nick Wangersky is still finding his way around the film industry in the Lower Mainland. Nick has expanded his horizons with the help of the Vancouver B Movie Factory and is also active in several other local filmmaking and acting groups. Currently he writes our film reviews, studies acting, and would like to get work editing video.
Darren Wiesner, our newest team member and a screenwriter of more than 10 years’ standing, attended Vancouver Film School. He’s had a lot of interesting experiences in the industry, including nine visits to the Great American Pitchfest. He’s met a lot of creators, both famous and emerging, along the way and enjoys interviewing them.
