Award winning actor James Pratt was in Vancouver over January to interview Hollywood North Magazine owner and senior editor Nick Wangersky, as part of season one of the new series Conversation Hollywood.
The interview available on iTunes next month features Nick becoming the first Canadian to feature on the highly regarded series alongside season one Hollywood power players, including two-time academy award nominee director Bruce Beresford, Spectrum Films GM Adam Scott, and LA Management’s senior manager, Trisanne Marin. It was also the first time the series has interviewed a magazine editor within the entertainment industry globally.
Conversation Hollywood, which is also associated with the Conversation Hollywood International Awards, features the hottest talents and most powerful players within Hollywood and the entertainment industry worldwide. Season one, which is now being released per episode on iTunes aims to provide the listener with the most current and direct information from key industry individuals to help educate the listener while also being entertaining. Each episode runs under 15 minutes with most guests being interviewed without their publicist to ensure a more genuine and direct approach.
While in town, host of the series, James Pratt also attended the Vancouver Short Film festival and spent time on the set of the new USA Hulu series Woke, (currently filming in Vancouver CBD ) “Vancouver has an incredible reputation across the globe for film and television and it’s easy to see why it’s Hollywood’s first choice to film productions outside of America. “The tax credits help, and the landscapes are outstanding, but it’s also the high skill set of the local actors and crew.” James noted.
Being able to feature Nick and hear his thoughts on Canadian filmmakers hear more about Hollywood North Magazine was a real treat for our audience.
One of the standouts from Nick’s interview was the clear and direct advice he gave for anyone looking at being featured in the magazine and what specific material editors want to see when printing articles in film magazines.
