Controversial Documentary HUSH to be Released

A pro-information documentary by Director Punam Kumar Gill, HUSH takes on the subject of abortion and its long term health effects, physical and mental. Sure to provide an informative look into modern life, Gill’s documentary not only sheds light on these conditions in a way to educate more women around the world, but its making has led her to live more cautiously as well.

Teaming up with father and son producer team Drew and Joses Martin, the team had to figure out how to work together. Despite different views on abortion, they still managed pretty well according to Joses, who says, “We had to forgo our personal opinions of whether abortion is right or wrong, good or bad. We united for the greater good: to ensure that the best possible care is being given to women. In the end it’s a call for scientific and political honesty, no matter where you stand on the issue.”

The film itself is considered too political to be distributed by mainstream companies, as many health organizations had no interest in doing interviews with the crew and researchers felt the subject was too frightening to discuss. However since this is a documentary that many people want to see, the independent Canadian producers of Mighty Motion Pictures have taken care of distribution themselves. The documentary is set to release on Canada Day, July 1st. More information can be found on the official website and anyone interested in ordering the DVD, Blu-Ray or requesting to screen the movie anywhere can find more information here.
