Movies this weekend: night before the Hunger Games?

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 The trilogy that everyone is going crazy over expands even more. Panem has now exploded into a war, and Katniss has confronted President Snow for once. Now with a team of her closest friends, Katniss is ready to take out President Snow once and for all to save the residents of Panem from the worst president ever while watching out for many traps and enemies. President Snow on the other hand now has an obsession with taking out Katniss herself. Anyone who’s been following this series will be sure to enjoy the movie. Interesting for science fiction fans, but chances are it won’t be as good as the last few.

The Night Before Another Christmas comedy. Three childhood friends have spent a decade celebrating every Christmas with a tradition of debauchery. But things are changing now that they’re getting older. They plan to enjoy the best Christmas ever, known as the Nutcracka Ball. This stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, and Anthony Mackie. Sure to be an interesting flick for the holidays, maybe an even better one than last week’s Christmas movie.

Secret in Their Eyes Billy Ray has made a thriller movie, different from most classic thrillers. One of the FBI’s strongest teams gets torn apart by a murder. The investigators consist of Ray and Jess along with Claire, their supervisor who also happens to be an attorney. The murder victim just so happens to be Jess’s daughter. They spend 13 years trying to find this mysterious killer but to no avail. Until one day, when Ray finds the ultimate clue that is sure to reveal the killer and make them pay the price. But with their plan to nail the murderer, the cost might be too high. Certainly an interesting movie for anyone who’s looking for a thriller with a different style of plot.
