Family moments and 5 waves

Dirty Grandpa Zac Efron plays the role of Jason Kelly, who is on the verge of becoming part of his boss’s law firm. How does he get that? By marrying his boss’s daughter within the week. But then things get interrupted when Jason has to drive his grandpa Dick to Daytona for spring break. Well, he gets tricked actually. And Jason has to put up with crazy stuff from Dick (who lives up to his nickname), consisting of a week of bar fights, frat parties, drunk karaoke, and just about anything I’d do if I were a drunk old guy. Dick basically wants Jason to break out of his uptight life and live on the wild side for once, so before Dick dies, it’s important to make the best of his life. While this sounds like dirty humour, which I am not fond of, there are some audiences who enjoy the disgust of this film, because hey, live life to the fullest. Don’t be a Jason all your life.

The Boy Some jobs aren’t easy. Sometimes you think demons from hell are out to ruin your life with the job you’ve got. Lauren Cohan plays the role of Greta, a woman who has been “chosen” as a nanny to watch over a couple’s eight-year-old son. Or maybe it’s just a life size doll with a creepy hollow face. Because the real boy died 20 years ago, and a doll is the next best substitute, I guess. Greta starts to learn some rather creepy disturbing things about the family’s past and it isn’t long before this plastic freak is coming after her. Seems like a worthwhile horror film that’s mainly for the horror fan to watch and critique.

The 5th Wave – After four waves of destruction to the Earth, Cassie and a younger man team up to save her little brother while braving the danger of an upcoming fifth wave that is bound to be the worst thing to happen to the world as of yet. Sounds like thrilling science fiction, but I’m not sure if everyone will enjoy it completely. Seems a bit awkward to me.
